Joint Statement of the Diocese of East Anglia and St Peter and All Souls parish on All Souls Church Building:

Following the recent parish council meeting 17^th June 2019 with the attendance of Vicar General Fr. David Bagstaff, Finance Director Matthew Fernandez-Graham and the Dean of Peterborough Fr. Jeffrey Downie, we would like to assure all parishioners that:

• The Church building is safe to use and equipped with a monitoring system that detects any movement.This system is being serviced by Canham Consulting, a professional company working for the diocese.
• Following the refusal of the claim presented by our Parish and the Diocese to our insurers, an appeal has been launched. As a result of the appeal an independent expert is to be appointed to provide a report which will be accepted by the insurers and the Diocese.
• The structural propping works and security fence erected in Jan 2019 around the Church, which was hired by the Diocese, has now been purchased in full and is the property of the Diocese. The Parish is very grateful to the Diocese of East Anglia for generously paying for this System and HERAS fencing.
• The Diocese and the parish are working closely together towards accomplishing the reparation of our Church building and we will keep you informed of the next steps.

As we celebrate SS Peter & Paul Solemnity, which is our Parish main celebration, we ask you all for your prayers that with the help of our main Patron Saint prayers, we may reach a lasting and satisfactory conclusion.
