Below you will find a list of events from around the Diocese of East Anglia, many are run by the Diocesan Youth Service but some may be run by other organisations operating in the Diocese. Back with a Bang (Diocesan Mass for young people followed by fireworks) – Cancelled

Considering the recent concerns about Covid Omicron, this has been cancelled.

Hopefully it will be back with an even bigger bang in the future!

30th April – 2nd May 2022 – Ignite Festival 2022

The East of England’s premier Catholic youth event returns as we gather with teenagers from all around East Anglia for a festival weekend of music, entertainment and powerful expressions of faith. July 2022 – East Anglia Young Adults Summer Pilgrimage

Join us on an unforgettable travelling adventure! Destination and dates are still to be decided and more info will be posted here as soon as it’s available. Previous destinations have included Spain, Portugal, France and Scotland.

Saturday 4th March 2023 – Flame at Wembley Arena

Join us for the biggest Catholic youth gathering in England with thousands of young people at the world-famous SSE Wembley Arena. The theme for Flame 2023 is beLoved and the day is set to include lively music, international speakers and a lot more. Open to those from Year 9 up to and including university age. Find out more at

Details of groups and transport from our Diocese will be posted here closer to the time. Contact Hamish on if you are interested in coming or in bringing a parish or school group. This event will replace Flame2021 which was postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

August 2023 – World Youth Day Lisbon

At the invitation of Pope Francis, young people from around the world will gather in Lisbon for a life-changing week of celebration and pilgrimage. A group from the Diocese of East Anglia will travel to be among them. More details will be posted on this website in early 2022.

Katherine of Aragon Mass at Peterborough Cathedral

As part of its week of events to commemorate Katherine of Aragon there will be a Catholic mass at the cathedral on Friday 28 January at 08.30 am. There is also a commemoration service at Katherine’s tomb in the cathedral at 11.00 conducted by The Dean. All Welcome.
