Journey
Induction meeting, nervous, shy. Apprehension. I'm here, but why? Introductions round the room Hope this is all over soon
But I’ve been nudged in this direction,
Smiled upon by God’s affection.
He’s been patient, time now right.
Thank you Lord, I’ve seen the light.
My learning curve has been so steep,
Preparing for this giant leap.
Processing so much information,
Sacraments, scripture, prayer, reflection.
My new found faith, put to the test,
Illness, and my best friend’s death.
Help from God, through all this grief,
Strengthens me in my belief.
Norwich Cathedral, day just grand.
Met the Bishop, shook his hand.
Heading for that Easter date,
I’m now elect from candidate.
Re-enacted the ‘Last Supper’
Like years before, in that room upper.
Broke the bread, shared the wine,
As we were taught by ‘The Divine’.
At the vigil, candle burning,
The moment for which I’ve been yearning.
Christian, now, I’ve joined the union,
Humble feeling, first Communion
Had God not led me on my way,
I’d not have met Clare on that day.
This was His choice, got the call,
To Jesus, I now give my all
Thanks to Monica, you’ve been just brill,
To Father David, John and Jill.
For all the weeks the course has run,
On my journey, just begun…..
